Radeon 7970 or GTX 680 Superclocked

  2. Another option might be a 7950. If you're only gaming at 1080p, a 7950 overclocked slightly is more than enough.

    a 7950 overclocked is cheaper and probably adequate

    but if you want a 7970

    runs really cool--very quiet--once i updated the card bios--the original bios had the fan at 50% at idle

    the newer bios 33% at idle

    currently at 26c at idle

    think toms voted the gigabyte 7970s the best all round 7970

    with asus 2nd

    only minor gripe is a lot of newer cards have a 2nd revision which is voltage locking them

    the manufacturers arent advertising this--so this card will only go to 1025mhz from factory of 1000mhz earlier voltage unlocked versions would do 1200-1300mhz--but will overclock the memory no problem to 1600mhz/6400mhz

    its still fast at 1000mhz but i just like to overclock things :D

  6. Thnx so much. Imma go with 7970 I save a little and. Gonna over clock the freak out of it with my i5 3570k
  7. If I have a Gigabyte 7970 will I have to get a different case ?
