So I've been looking around for a good case to put in my first build, me and my friend are building two separate and he has decided to go with the fractal design Define XL and I really like the clean look. I plan to put it next to a black wooden desk, so I would like it to be black, and windows would be nice to have, but are not neccisary. I am in the 1000$~1200$ Price range and am looking to spend around 100$ for a case. I wont be using more than 4 HDD slots, and need only 2 5.25 Drive Bays. I want a high quality, low noise case, that's good for beginners, but looks very nice. Thanks!

Hi. Fractal Design have announced the Define XL R2. It has sound absorbing material but it doesn't have a side window in case you're interested: http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/5171/fractal-design-define-xl-r2-black-pearl-full-tower-chassis-review/index.html It sounds like you want to be looking at the Fractal Design Define R4 cases with side window too: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/fractal-design-case-fdcadefr4blw It's also has sound absorbing material and a side window in a smaller package.

In my opinion the best case for you would be the upcoming windowed version of the Antec P280.
It might be however look wierd next to your desk.

So next up is the Antec Eleven Hundred.
It's not a low noise case. It's a high performance one, but that does not mean it's loud.
It has a window, looks great and gets good reviews from everywhere.
