Hello,
I have Comcast for my internet and home phone services. I am paying $25 for phone service and $27 for Economic Speed for Internet. Also, I am paying $7 a month for modem(rent). I need a faster speed for internet and would purchasing a VOIP Cable Modem all-in-one be a better choice rather than pay $7 dollars per month and I can send back the wireless router as well?

Only certain model modems are going to work. And the only way to find out would be to contact your ISP to find out which would be compatible.

But if you pay for "economical" internet then the chances your speed will increase is slim. I would look on your local Comcast site, most will have a speed test. If you are getting withing a few mb or kb (depending on what plan you pay for) then they will consider that normal.
