So I just finished my first computer build, and I turned it on and everything appears to be working. I can access the BIOS and I can see my different drives. I unplugged the data cables of the hard disks, as explained on Newegg's youtube tutorial. Then I went into the BIOS and changed the First Boot Priority to the CDROM. Next, I put in the full retail 64-bit Windows 7 Home, and it just says the error in the title. I retried multiple times. Then I plugged the data cables back in. Same result.
First) any suggestions?
Second) How do I check to see if my Optical Drive is being recognized. Obviously power's getting to it because it opens and closes but maybe it's not being recognized?
Third) It's a used OD, so maybe it's faulty? Should I just go buy a new one?
Fourth) What SHOULD happen if it were to be working?
*for some extra info, I have a Gigabyte mobo and AMD phenom ii x4 and my hard disks are in RAID0 and my SSDs are in RAID0, and they are both recognized and are deemed functional, if any of that's important.
Thank you so much in advance. This is driving me insane. I just want to use my computer
