I'm about to buy either a Canon Powershot s60 or s70. One is 5 mp, the
other 7, so I know my Sandisk 256 CF card will be inadequate. What would be
a good recommendation for a larger card in terms of size and speed that
isn't super expensive. I tend to travel with my laptop, so I'm thinking 1
gig capacity max would be more than adequate, but I'm confused about card
speeds, etc.

I forgot to add, what's the advantage of a microdive over a CF card in this
situation?

That's a notable disadvantage. Thanks!
