HD 6670 or 6770?

Hi. I'm not a big PC gamer, but I would quite like to play Arma 2 and the new CS:Go. I've looked at a couple of graphics cards, but really don't know which it is best to get. I don't want to pay more for something if the rest of my system will cause a bottle-neck.

The cards I am interested in are the HD 6670 and 6770. I've also considered the 6570 (as price is a bit of an issue). My system is a Pentium Dual Core 3.20Ghz with 4GB Ram.

So, will I see a difference playing Arma 2 with the 6770 over the 6670 or 6570? I don't currently play using a HD monitor, but it could change.

Thanks a lot.

  1. What's your power supply's make/model? 6770 requires a power connector....6670 doesn't. Another is the 7750 which also doesn't require a power connector and has similar performance to the 6770 (7750 uses less power than 6770).

  2. agree with the above comment HD 7750 cost you same about HD 6770.
  3. Which Pentium dual core? A Sandy Bridge Pentium dual core compared to a old Pentium Dual core is like night and day.

6670 is superior to 7750. I'd recommend 7770, but remember 7770 uses twice the power of 7750, so depends on your power supply.

    Incorrect as follows:

    7770>7750=6770>6670

    Comparisons here for newer games:

    TDP: 7770 80W, 7750 55W....a difference of 25W, not double: http://www.hwcompare.com/11880/radeon-hd-7750-vs-radeon-hd-7770/

I'd expect the old one. The computer only cost £200 around last Christmas from eBuyer (without monitor and only onboard graphics).

Do you think the 6770 is worth getting, or will I not see a difference from the 6670 with that spec? I can't afford to go any more expensive than the 6770 (well, can't really afford that, but I will just have to wait a little longer if it is worth getting that over the 6670).

    Thanks.

What is your power supply...make/model...# of amps at 12V? HD 7750 is as low as 80 pounds: http://pcpartpicker.com/uk/part/sapphire-video-card-112020020g
