I am a first time PC builder. i am looking for a decent Cheap PC that i can play borderlands 2, battlefield 3, COD and many other games. i have found these parts and what to know if they will all work to gather and will run the games i want to, and if once i build it i can upgrade it later one when i have more money. also if there is a way to get better for same price or cheaper please help. IDK what to go with the cheaper CPU for now and then save up or and 15 or 17 or just get a i3?(will and i3 be good enoff for gaming?)

You don't have a GPU. Doesn't matter which CPU you get. Without a CPU, you won't be able to play a single game.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ixAv It would save in the long run to get better performance now and not upgrade later. The i5-3350p does not have igpu, you could always switch this to the 3330 which is the same price.

Definitely 64 bit.

You need 64bit to use more than 4gb ram. If the os is part of the $700 budget, I can suggest a lower graphics card or cpu.

I would get the i5-3470 instead of the i5-3350P. It's a little faster and they're essentially the same price.

It uses more power, but it's more powerful. I'd get the 3470. Also, for your GPU, the 7770 beats the 550Ti and it's the same price.

The 3470 was not that price when I made the list. Prices are constantly changing. Yes, get the 3470, it's only $1 more. It's a higher tdp because the the igpu. If you aren't using the igpu it's the same power.

It comes with it. You don't need to buy anything.

not to be a pain but would the games i mention (COD, battlefield 3, Borderlands 2) run on linex if i wanted to go for a cheaper root with picking that over windows 7

Yes, no, and yes, but even though it is a yes, it doesn't mean it is issue free. If you know anyone with a school email you could get w7 for $65 with the student discount. You could always get windows 8 now (since it's free for now) and buy it when it comes out.

They're both 7850's. The "old" one is actually a V2, so it might be a bit cooler, but I'd just save the money and get the cheaper one.

You mean deemo found it... http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/371831-33-good-gaming Another one of those "wasn't that price when I made the list" moments. It was the same price before. V1 has artifacting/bsod/dying issues which is why v2 exists.

Pcpartpicker may find the lowest price individually but remember newegg has combo deals so may actually be cheaper with other parts. Stay with the 7850 if you want but the exact model depends on the day of purchase prices (this applies for all parts really). You could even buy parts at different times for the best deals, although I would make sure the parts work flawlessly before the rma period ends. You have igpu so you could buy the gpu last and get the rest of the parts as soon as you want.
