Why isnt my laptop screen working

Hello, my laptop screen is always turning really dark. it seems like its off but its not. i can bearly see things.i have reinstalled my video card and windows 7. can anyone help me?

Does it seem light the backlight is completely off?

If it looks like the light is right off, then it may well have actually failed(Light or inverter/ballast). Worst thing is that the lights last nowhere as long as the screen it self.

First, You should check when your laptop flap isnt opened(or when you are not using the laptop),whether any of the key touches the screen or not.It can be the reason behind that prooblem you are facing.
