Does my PC with PCIe 1.0a x1 work with any graphics card?!?

I bought a new intel desktop board dn2800mt. The website for the specifications/product manual is below. The only problem is that the graphics are terrible for gaming since it uses an integrated graphics system. I noticed there is a PCIe 1.0a x1 slot. Can I use ANY graphics card with this slot/board at all? I wanted to use a GeForce GT 520 graphics card (link also below) - will it work?? I'm also worried about power, but dont know how to tell if my computer can even handle the power consumption.

Please let me know, and if not, any suggested graphics cards that will work with my PC. Thanks!!!

Nothing too graphic-intense. Mainly older video games, i.e. diablo 2, knight of the old republic, unreal tournament 2004...
But right now, my PC runs them...but at about 2 fps...!
