AverTV Capture HD - Confused with recording ps3 gameplay.

The title seems self explanatory, so I'll go on with the details.

So I recently got this card, which was the only option in my country. Anyway, I read lots of stuff about hdcp protection etc, but my issue is different. I searched google for almost 3 hours, but had no luck.

PS3 is hooked up to my LCD TV. For the card, I used AV/Multi Scart as it was my only option. Unless I change ps3's video settings from HDMI to AV/Multi, I get nothing from the tuner card. Tried changing channels, just nothing.

I hear people playing via hd (720p+) and recording via component or composite cables (480p, 480i whatever). So how is this possible? I'm surely missing something?

Well. This became a self-solved issue.

I guess the only way to record is using the same output for both ps3 and the tuner card. component or hdmi cables, the only way to do this is using a splitter/switcher.
