Buying a Digital Camera - first time buyer

You need to consider other brands as well, although most Canon cameras are
good in their class.

Of the ones you listed, I would choose the S1 IS because of the image
stabilisation - it will help reduce any camera shake you might have.
However, it is "only" 3.2MP, but that may be quite adequate for you. How
do you intend to view your pictures?

one that suits yur needs and then have a look here,
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/index.html as they seem to have the lowest
prices (no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong :-D) I just bought a
Minolta Z1 from them and was well impressed with their service.
