I have an ECS 915P-A and would like to know if I update the bios will a core2 duo work with it? I know a Pentium D works. I'm hoping because I have a core2 sitting around after I got a new comp. That would be great for when family visits (As they often do)

No Core2 support on any P915 boards that I know of. The 865 and 915 chipsets were limited to the earliest LGA 775 Pentium 4 chips. In fact I don't even see that your board supports Pentium D chips at least not according to the ECS website. Celeron D is not Pentium D.

The earliest chipsets to support Core2 were the 975X and P965 I know that for sure.
