Basically, SDRAM (Static Dynamic Random Access Memory) is still a standard memory type in computers. It typically runs at about 133Mhz. A newer form of SDRAM (loosely) is DDR, which is faster. These two memory types are found in most systems. If you have a pentium 4, you are probably using RAMBUS memory, which runs at 800Mhz and is dual-channel. It is very fast and very expensive. Most people don't like the public issues with the maker of this memory.

 Blowing things up smells aweful...

"SDRAM (Static Dynamic Random Access Memory) is..."

Not to be nitpicky, but SDRAM stands for Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory. Static and Dynamic are contradictions. :)

"These two memory types are found in most systems."

They are found in most older systems and in today's Athlon systems. Most systems being sold today in stores and to corporations are Pentium 4 systems with DRDRAM.

"If you have a pentium 4, you are probably using RAMBUS memory"

Rambus is the name of the company. DRDRAM is the name of the memory standard they designed.
