I have heard a lot how Kepler loses out to GCN on Compute power.my question is What is GPU compute,How is it relevant?

Is the compute power dependent upon the GPU or the Card?

Solution
the GTX 6 series (Kepler) is not good for computing.
(they did that on purpose)..
the GTX 5 series (Fermi) is the computing king.

the HD Radeon 7 series is suppose to be good at computing as well.

It's not that i don't totally know what GPU compute is.I am simply questioning it's significance to the average gamer.I know it's my fault for the post title, but i wanted this discussion to be as open as possible. And if i'm not mistaken, I use badaboom all the time, which is a GPGPU App.I admit i made myself look like a lazy SOB,but you guys could have gone a bit easy on me.

GPU computing doesn't help gaming, it basically allows your GPU to act like a processor. Once again you could have found this with google.

This is a FORUM. A place for discussion and for folks to come for computer questions.

Google is fine, but sometimes its better to get some input from forum members who may have a good amount of experience on a particular topic and have something more to offer than, "google is your friend"
