Boosting Microphone without static

I have a Xonar DG soundcard + Zalman ZM-MIC1 microphone.
With microphone at max it is far too quiet without mic boost. However mic boost causes a lot of static and is still a loud/clear as I would like.
What do I need to correct this? A better microphone? An analogue mixer? Better Sound card?
The main purpose of this is to be able to commentate over game audio when I stream.
