Hello,

Could anyone give me some advice on my brandnew HD7950 its not peforming as it should. I only get 25-30 fps on bf3 ultra and 35 on low. I also did a passmark test and other less powerful cards are peforming way better.

I have;
Dual core E8400 3.0 ghz
P5qld pro motherboard
6gb ram
700w coolermaster psu

Thank you

its being bottlenecked by the dual core processor in BF3.

I asked my local shop and they said it would be no problem and 3ghz is way enough. What would you advise me to do next? Should i buy a new motherboard and processor?

Your local shop doesn't know what it's talking about. It's not the fact that it's 3ghz, it's that fact that it's only dual core, BF3 performs pretty badly on dual cores and it's really holding back your GPU. Upgrade to an i5 2500k!

I was thinking about Intel i7 3770k 3.5 ghz

If you're only using your system for gaming you don't need anything more than an i5. All i7 has over the i5 is hyperthreading which isn't useful for games at all. Plus a 2500k overclocks extremely well.

Okay and what board should i get with that?

Preferrably a Z77 motherboard.

Did your local shop say it was good for that specific game, because that's just wrong, but if they just said it would be good in general, then a lot of games would have no issues with your CPU.

I have a 600 euro budget. Already bought powersupply and graphic card. What should i buy next to get the best out of my graphic card? What do you suggest? I play games mostly

the most budget you can go is getting a quad core phenom or higher. recommended is 2500k. as a gamer i7's are $/fps ratio is horrid. a basic 2500k/z68(or z77)/cpu cooler is the prefered route. If its too costly, then a i5-3450/h77(or b75) route is a budgeted route. a phenom II x4 965 BE/AM3+/cpu cooler is almost as low as you can go for pure use of quad cores in gaming. If you are on a tighter budget, you don't need to get the cpu cooler at an instant, but when you want to overclock, its highly advised getting one at that time.(dont know euro prices as much)
