Not using GPU off initial boot

I'm having a problem with my PC. When I boot up, everything seams to run normally. i hear my fans, i hear the POST beep, and about 30 seconds later, i hear the sounds from my desktop (skype booting, etc). The problem is that nothing shows up on my monitor which is plugged in to the graphic card. When i plug the monitor into the integrated graphics, all is well. A simple restart fixes this problem, but it reoccurs every day.

Does anybody know how to fix this? Thanks

More about initial boot
  1. Check your bios, you probably need to change a setting so that it'll use your discreet card by default instead of the integrated one.
  2. Disable onboard graphics, set graphics to boot as PEG, reboot. Fixed?
