Hi,

I'm looking for good motherboard, RAM, and other components for my 24/7 server.
I planned using AMD FX-8350 as my CPU, 16gb of RAM max, a good motherboard and some weak graphics card as its a least important thing.
Here are the links of components that I'm planning to buy.

CPU: AMD FX-8350

RAM: Kingston HyperX CL9, KHX1600C9D3K4/16GX
http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1600C9D3K4_16GX.p...

Motherboard: GA-990FXA-D3 or MSI 970A-G46
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=...
or
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/970A-G46.html#/?div=Basic

Power supply: Raidmax RX-500AF
http://www.raidmax.com/psu/rx_500af.html

HDD: Two Toshiba DT01ACA050 500gb in RAID 1
http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/hdd/computing/product_...

CASE: BlueBerry cn872bk500
http://www.blueberry-eu.com/main.php?action=filter&grou...

GPU: AMD Radeon 5450
http://eu.msi.com/product/vga/R5450-MD1GD3H-LP.html

The computer should be working 24/7 as a server (Debian 6) hosting game servers like hlds,srcds,cod4,samp,minecraft but mostly srcds and hlds and other multiplayer FPS games, and should get quite high performance from this CPU higher and stable FPS.

I'm wondering if I should go with Gigabyte or MSI motherborad or if you can suggest some motherboard that's in the similar price range.Because I heard that this MSI board with 970A chipset does not support directly FX-8350 and I need to apply a BIOS update and I can't do that at the moment.

As I've read the specs of those motherboards the onboard NIC is based on Realtek RTL8111E (10/100/1000 Mbit) I have a 100Mbps connection. Should I buy a separate NIC or use the onboard one. I need better ping and better network perofrmance.

My maximum budget for this PC is about 450 euros that's about $500.

If you can suggest some better components (MB,RAM,HDD,Power Supply,CASE,GPU) with lower or similar price please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Have you considered buying a second hand server? They are more built for running 24/7, including proper raid cards, some have redundant PSU's, dual NIC's etc.
So for example - you can get a DL385 with dual quad core Opterons for your budget.

I've already considered that option. Shipment from US or from countries in the EU are high also I need to pay customs so the price will go far from $500 as I have. Because of that I deiced to buy components from my local computer store, it has most of the components, and I can pick them up easily, and assemble the PC at my home.

If you have some suggestions or have some better or similar components for similar or lower price please write the names and give me a link.

Thanks in advance!
