Looking to build a budget, gaming rig for my wife. Our Dell laptop she used for WoW finally kicked the bucket (4 years old). She only plays WoW at the moment. Resolution 1920x1080. Already have a new hard drive, monitor, peripherals, and Win7 OS. What you guys think of this?

Intel Core i3 2100 CPU

ASRock H61 1155 Micro ATX motherboard

G.Skill Value Series 2x4GB 1333MHz RAM

Corsair CX500 80 Plus certified PSU

HIS IceQ X HD7850 2GB 256-bit video card

Rosewill Challenger ATX Mid Tower

ASUS 24x DVD Burner

Total - $498.70 USD (promo codes and shipping included)

EDIT: $30.00 Mail-In rebates not included.

Overall a solid build. There are some case/memory combo deals that can save you some money:

Better memory than you chose, $4 cheaper

Save $8 on the memory/case you chose

edit: You might want to use the savings to bump the CPU up to a 2120 (a ~7% speed boost over the 2100 for $4.50 more)

Thanks for the info. I'll look into those combo deals.

Other than that, I think i'm going to go with this!

I just noticed the system in your sig. I hope you've upgraded or your wife's budget build is going to be better than your system. :??:

Or maybe it's just a ploy to convince her to let you upgrade your computer.

I know right :( . Outdated, yes, (built in 09') but still plays all my games fine on High settings!

Well, she's getting a new PC, and I get a new Galaxy S3 today. It's all about compromise! :D
