Budget Range: the cheaper the better around a 1000 is max

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, browsing

Are you buying a monitor: yes, not included into budget, neither are other gaming peripherals

Parts to Upgrade: Mobo, CPU, GPU, RAM, Case, PSU

Do you need to buy OS: NO

Parts Preferences: GTX 670ftw, Gskil sniper 16gb 1866

Overclocking: maybe

SLI or Crossfire: maybe in the future


A gaming build, but a good browser as well. The cheaper the better, so AMD and Intel are both fine.

You can overclock the cpu to x4 980 speeds on the stock cooler, or go 4ghz plus with the hyper 212.

Low profile ram with heat spreaders to fit under the fan on the hyper 212 and stay cool doing it.

This new plextor ssd seems to have a decent combo of price, performance, and reliability so far.

Overclock past 7970ghz ed. or gtx680 levels and game comfortably at 3x1080p(or a long time on 1 screen). Forget physx(720/ps4 will pack radeons).

Good luck finding this feature set on similar priced cases(save HAF 912 at 50 cents cheaper. No front panel USB 3.0 ports on that one, though).

This psu is high quality and more than enough for this rig(not a fan of sli/crossfire myself for a number of reasons).

I know you said you have windows, but unless it's a retail copy you can't transfer the license to a new computer. You can use this oem copy or dump it.

Not a significant one if it gets overclocked at least a little bit(less of a bottleneck if it gets overclocked even more).
