Hello,
Im a student living in a shared house and we share a wireless router and internet connection between 3 laptops. Most of the time, at least one of us will have a problem connecting and will be stuck in 'local only', but it changes who it is. The laptops and router don't move around and when the connection works, it is a strong connection. We don't lose connection when it is working, but sometimes when you turn the laptop on it can't connect to the internet.
Turning the outer on and off at the wall so far instantly fixes the problem, so it must be a setting on the computers right?

Points straight to the router for my money. Is everyone definitely using the net and remaining online while others are cut off? I would first suspect a dodgy DSL connection from that router to the telephone exchange before any of the computers, providing they all have power saving disabled on their wireless adapters.
