Budget Gaming Build

Hello Toms hardware :hello:

I'm doing a build for someone who will use it for pretty much only gaming, but their budget is only $450.

I'd like to get a recommended build setup, parts should be from Newegg only.

I prefer to build with Radeon cards

Thanks in advance.

  1. For $450 you are going to have trouble building a machine outright.

This is as about low end as you can get, and is still outside your budget by $50. Thats not even including an OS.

  2. Thats a sad excuse for a gaming pc, and I don't need to purchase OS.

    I came up with this:

    ASUS M5A78L-M LX AM3+
    Phenom II X4 965 3.4ghz
    CM V6 GT Cooler
    Corsair CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 XMS3 2x4gb 1333mhz Ram
Ultra 600w psu (Not the best, I know)
    CM HAF 912 Case
    Samsung DVD Burner
    SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 GPU
Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM
    All this for around $450.
  3. Best to get a laptop or something from Costco...
  4. I doubt you can get that for $450.

PSU is not the place to cheap out. I would rather get an Athlon CPU before a generic PSU.

Find me a laptop that can beat the build I listed for the same price then.

Yes actually, tiger direct diy combo, then i added stuff. Major combo dealing.

    Here:

    First:

I added before the rebate was taken off the $310 price, so incase rebate goes through the whole.

    Then added

Sure its a bit over $450 but if I really had to I could just leave it as 4gb of ram.
  7. Tiger direct Combo deals huh?

Thanks for telling us we could do that.

Also don't factor rebates into your build cost. They are hard to get at best and shouldn't be relied upon.
  8. Forgot Tiger has good combo deals..anyways, I think i answered my own question by being not so set on newegg only...

    /end thread.

I was just pointing out that custom building at that price in my mind is very hard and you mine as well get a pre-build system on sale at a outlet store.
