So i've been using my 6870 and loving it but it runs really hot. Because of the heat i cannot overclock my 6870 so i was wondering what would the best upgrade be? I've looked into some other cards such as 7850 and have decided a $250 budget is what i am willing to spend.

*I have all top hardware so bottlenecking won't be a factor in a new card*

Thanks a ton guys!

7870 is a way to go. It will blew the 6870 off. About the heat, that time there was a MSI TFIII 7870 card for $280, that comes with a good cooler of course. If you want 7870s with good coolers, you can wait them at sale so it fits your budget. If you don't want to wait, go for the 7850 then. Make sure it has a good cooler.

This one I would recommend:

Oh yes one extra things, make sure your PSU supports good Graphics card (I recommend minimum 500w).
