Does a pci express x16 3.0 graphic card works on pci express x16 1.0 slot?

Hello, i want to purchase an ati radeon 7950 but it is pci express x16 3.0 card but my motherboard slot is pci express x16 1.0 (dell inc 0c2kjt mother board) so please tell me does a ati radeon hd 7950 works with pci express x16 1.0 slot

how many fps will be reduce because pci-e 1.0 bandwidth is much more slower than an pci-e 3.0? thank you soy much waiting for your replies

It will work. PCI-E is backwards compatible. No idea about how worse the performance will be compared to a 3.0 slot but I doubt it will be by much. The 7950 doesn't even saturate a 2.0 slot
