I'm badly in need of an upgrade. My current computer can't handle my day to day applications. Won't be buying monitor but I am looking at moving up to a better board, cpu, and memory, I'll also be updating to windows 7 as well.
Price $300-400.
As it stands now I have to reboot a few times each day to regain memory and speed.
I have an old AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ , VIA K8M400 2GB memory currently.
I've already brought the startup programs to a bare minimum and my board can't take any more memory.
I use this for stock trading and typically have 3 or 4 applications open at once while I multi-task including one program that scans stock charts. While the market is open, I'll usually find myself rebooting at least 3 times so as to regain some speed. I might also like the option to do some future video editing but not now. What do you all think would be a good use of resources regarding board and cpu?
