  1. In short - you can't. Laptops in general (with very few exceptions) are not made with upgradeable core parts.

You can increase (probably) RAM, and replace the hard drive, but that's it. If you are extremely lucky you can probably replace the CPU as well, but you are risking moving from having a three-year old working laptop to a door stop.
  2. You probably arent going to be able to get any more performance out of that graphics chip let alone the computer itself. If you are trying to game on it, you are going to have issues.
  3. thanks
but I can game on this laptop very well minecraft fps: 70fps averge
  4. Well, to answer the original question, increasing the graphics memory isnt going to do squat for performance.

And minecraft is really easy to run.

well lets turn the question round.... WHY do you think you want to increase the graphics memory?
If you can play minecraft at 70fps... why do you need more graphics memory?

    Cheers
  6. to play la noire
  7. Honestly, that laptop is probably not going to be able to play the game at all.

    Are you trolling?

You get advice that you cant really expect to play games with your laptop...

Your reply is that you can play minecraft at 70fps.

So are we to assume that you think... just becasue you can play minecraft... you should be able to play La Noire?

Thats almost like saying that because your car can get you to your local shops... you expect to be able to win a F1 race with it!!!

There is a saying... "you cant get a quart out of a pint pot"... your expectations are VERY unrealistic and faffing around with a bit of extra graphics mem is not going to cut it.

    Cheers

I am not a gamer, but here are the requirements (I suppose, minimum) for running L.A. Noire:
    http://www.rockstargames.com/lanoire/pc/
    Quote:
Operating System: Windows 7 / Windows Vista Service Pack 1 / Windows XP Service Pack 3 / OnLive® for PC or Mac
Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.2GHz to Quad Core 3.2GHz / AMD Dual Core 2.4Ghz to Quad Core 3.2Ghz
    RAM: 2GB to 8GB
    Hard drive space: 16GB
    Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce® 8600 GT 512MB to NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 580 1536MB / Radeon HD 3000 512MB to Radeon HD 6850 1024MB
Your laptop covers just the first one :)
  10. ^ lol.
  11. NO mate you can't...Deemo13 is correct....just do not go to upgrade anything unless you will brick your laptop...and video memory has no effect on playing games at all....as an example with modern GPUs 512MB DDR5 is far better than 2GB DDR3...Because DDR5 is much faster....BTW in your case...the requirements say it need HD 3000 to HD 6850...so they mean HD 3000 series not HD 3000 laptop graphics....so it means you need atleast HD 3850 to run it....You dig that potnah? HD 3850 is a HD 3000 series GPU
  12. thanks
  13. hey but what if i upgrade my old computer to use this card?

    http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6076197

    i have a pentium d 950 overclocked to 3.8ghz

    with 2 gigabyte of ram?
  14. Well it would be better than your laptop.
  15. but will it run la noire?
  16. Yes definitely it will...but with medium to low settings maybe....although make sure you have a decent power supply first because this card need a branded 400W atleast

The CX430 would be a good choice. The 4670 doesnt use that much juice though. It just usues a few more watts over the 6670, which can run on 300W.

ALTHOUGH I am not saying run the 4670 on 300W no. I would much rather say run it on something with at least 350-400.

This would be a good power supply to use.
  18. thanks
