Ok, recently I wrote a 3 text-length message on 3310 and the further I went,
the slower the interface got and then button presses went a mite haywire
before I hit delete, intending *one* letter not the *whole* message! So once
again a huge message got wiped out leaving me irate. Happened many times
before.
Are the newer Nokias more efficient? Do they retain the responsiveness you
have after a few letters on the 3310 or do they likewise clog down badly
after 2 or 3 wrapped texts? Do they have that nasty habit of deleting
themselves specifially to drive people mad?

Would love a 6230 but only after PAYG and they're a mite expensive. £150 is
as much as I'd spend.

6230 doesn't do this. You need to select a command to clear the screen.

No. They thought it was a good feature, without taking into account the
processing behind it. Then again, it could be Finnish humour?

3310 = 2000
6230 = 2004

Things have moved on.
