How to unlock Phenom II X2 550?

Hello, need help here
how to unlock Phenom II X2 550 to quad core?
i'm using mobo Asus M5A990X Evo R2.0 and Cooler Master Hybrid TX3.

You have to go into the BIOS and change the advanced settings. Unfortunately there is no gaurantee youll get to unlock either core and have it be stable. They are turned off for a reason. You can try unlocking one core at a time and see if it works but sometimes, you just can't unlock them.

I dont think the 990x or any am3+ boards have core unlocking as the fx series cpus do not have any hidden cores. Would have to go back to am3 to get advanced core calibration or whatever its called. I could be wrong but have yet to see a am3+ 900 series chipset with core unlocking

Guess i was wrong found a msi 990x one that does core unlocking, so yes it would be in the bios like rds mentioned, if asus has it

find something called core unlocking or advanced core calibration or something along that line

Thats it look for ACC and set to enabled.

In the BIOS under advanced setings. If your can't find it your motherboard probably doesn't allow for core unlocking.
