You guys have been awesome at helping me out, I thank you very much!
I am getting some hot temps on my i7 3770 with the stock fan so I want to upgrade to an aftermarket heatsink. I am planning to spend around $30. My case is horrible and the backside of the case does not have a hole for the backplate, I dont think that should change anything but I just want to make sure. I would have to remove the motherboard to install the backplate and heatsink right? I will provide some pictures to give you an idea of how much room I have inside. Thanks!!!

Edit: Just fixed the retainers, temps didnt change...

Yes you'll have to uninstall the motherboard for the back plate. Not that it matters much, it's a pain either way. Everyone likes the Cooler Master 212 EVO, it's as good as it gets for under $50 (it's about $25). If you don't feel up to messing with backplates, the TX3 is the smaller version, and it uses the normal retainer, or whatever you want to call it. I run the TX3, my CPU's much less powerful than yours but mines more than enough for me for what that's worth.

I don't see any issues with space either, your RAM should be short enough,
