Geforce 430 for Gaming (Battlefield 3)

I am thinking of buying the GeForce GT 430 as a replacement for crappy integrated graphics (Intel HD 2000). I am REALLY short on cash. Would the 430 get me by in games like BF3 and Crysis? I watched some YouTube vids but I need people to give me their opinions on the 430 for gaming.

unless you are gaming at lower than 720p it does not cut the mustard as a gaming card. the only reviews that I have seen have tested it in battlefield bad company 2 (much less demanding than bf3) and it gets like 20fps avg at 1280x1024...if I were you I would just wait and save up for something a little more expensive that will allow you to game much better

I have a 1024 by 768 monitor anyways. what else is there for 40 bucks anyway?

if you are able to put a little bit more money down this is a much better bet (still not extremely powerful the best in that price range) its a 6670

Thanks!! But I really am limited to like $40 . I found an HD 3870 ON eBay for $35... I know it is 4 years old but would it be better than the 430? Thanks again

if I had to choose between the two I would go with the 430 then...who knows how long that 3870 was in use it could up and die on you at any moment....that being said I think the 3870 would be a little faster but when it comes to the newer games having dx11 might give you the performance edge
