Hi, I am sure that this has been asked, but cannot seem to find it anywhere. I have my computers hooked up to a router. The internet is working, but really slow. I was trying to troubleshoot, but when I hook my computer up straight to my modem to bypass the router, I cannot get it to connect. I have ensured that everything is set to get setting automatically. Any advice. I know in my router it has a static IP and DHCP turned on. Thanks!

But since you want to take out the router, you need to find out what configuration the modem wants. Most of the time they will give out a DHCP address to the PC, but some of them get a static IP configuration and manual settings you need to put in. Best thing to do is to work with the ISP to get this tested.
