SLI GTX680s 4gb bottle neck?

Hey guys,

My rig is a i7 930 clocked to 3.8ghz and I have 6gb of 2000hz RAM.

Do you think the 2X GTX680s 4gb FTW GPUs will be bottle necked by my system? Or will I benefit from upgrading these?

Maybe just get one for now. Its enough to pretty much handle every game there is.

You should have lead with this. Two 680's or 670's should be excellent. The resolution and refresh rate are what generally determine what video card setup you should use, assuming a reasonable CPU, which yours is.

4GB is not necessary and will make little difference for 5760X1080, kepler is limited by its bus width. Better off getting 2X 680 2GB instead. Your CPU can overclock a little higher, but should be just fine.

If you already ordered them, then you already ordered them. May as well try them for bottlenecks.

Make sure you have the power supply for the job.

No bottleneck, older i5's and i7's are still excellent for gaming.

Thanks guys! :)

I got a noctua after market CPU cooler, keeps all my cores down under 30 degres usually they hover around 25 degres so ill definitely clock it up a bit more when the cards arrive.

Is RAM much of an issue or not really?

I have a HX 1000 corsair PSU, I reckon it should be fine hopefully

Should work perfectly. And over 4GB of RAM is good.
