Is this a good pc build to play games like BF3, ARMA 2, COD, SKYRIM, at like max settings 1080p?

i5-3570k. $230

EVGA GTX 670 FTW $400

G.Skill Ares 8gb (2X4gb) 1600Mhz CL9 1.5v. $44

Coolermaster 212 EVO. $35

AsRock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard. $125

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM. $120

Samsung 830 Series 256GB SSD. $230

Corsair Carbide Series 500R White Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case: $140

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W Power Supply: $110

ASUS 24X DVD Burner: $20

TOTAL: $1454

NOTE: Also should i swap out the gtx 670 ftw for a gtx 680? I heard the 680 is 10% faster.

You probably don't need a 2TB HDD so you could get a 1TB and save 50$ and spend that on the GTX 680 which if you have the money go for it.

That's a very good build, as it is. I see you've got 750w power supply. Is that for a LIKELY expansion to a 3 monitor set-up. Unless you are seriously thinking of 3 monitors, the GTX680 really isn't worth the price premium, over the GTX670 (assuming it's a decent one). Two 680's in SLi, for a 3 monitor set-up is a sensible option.
If you're not thinking of 3 monitors, stick with GTX670, and drop power supply to 550w. Personally, I'd prefer the MSI Power Ed., to EVGA.

any recommendations for 1TB hard drives?

The BEST is probably Western Digital Caviar Black. Probably as reliable as anything, and good warranty. Seagate Barracuda are quite good, performance wise, but have had one or two relability issues, lately. I believe Samsung Spinpoint are quite good, but have no experience of them.

As you're probably going to be running your OS off your SSD (good choice btw, mine just came in today and I'm excited to put it in), you could go for a WD Caviar Green 1TB HDD. I found that Seagate HDD for $89.99 and ended up buying it for the extra storage space I'll need - so maybe check around to see if you can get a better deal than $120. I bought mine at NCIX (Canada) for your reference.

Although, the prices on Newegg are not the best, in my opinion.
