You must have seen the photos of the MSI Hawks that have been floating around on the other 660 Ti threads.

I read a report that the cards would be released on August 14th, instead of the 16th as we've been hearing. Maybe we won't even have to wait that long.

Well, you gotta start with the ones that have a 6+8 pin power connection (instead of reference 6+6 pin), because you know those designs are looking to push the overclocks. I would strongly consider the 3GB versions as well.

If it were just for the name, I'd go with the Inno3D "Ice Dragon" 3GB edition, because that just sounds too cool, but you probably can't find those where you live.

Then there's the Zotac AMP! clocked at 1111 mhz (with "only" a 6+6 pin), but for $400, you'd probably want a GTX 670. Still, that card's gotta be pumping to expect people to pay that much.

Ultimately, I would have to go with the tried and true standbys, the MSI Twin Frozr IV Power Edition, or the Asus DirectCU TOP.

P.S. I think this is a Discussion thread, rather than a Question thread. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe or it was a decision that was made solely by BB, I don't know if they have Nvidia's consent.

Maybe it was "implied" consent. I'm sure it would have been different if it was EVGA cards. Can't made the vendor partners happy that Nvidia is not out being sold and they still have to wait a few days.

Someone decided to show off their shiny new Nvidia GTX 660 Ti:

WoW: Min 41.5 Max 121.5 Avg 78.6
3DMark 11: P8034 X2624

i only watched the first part of the vid................ did you notice the time lag ( sound ) when he stopped and reloaded the MG ? Same thing with some controls. That's why I stopped playing the game. too much input lag. We need to be able to run this stuff on our machines not over the net. EA's Origin is probably the worst.

It looks decent for the price but I'm going to be buying the 7950.

I see it as this 7870<660ti<7950 (Generally speaking, especially AA on)

How did you come to that conclusion, which is directly contradicted by the Tweaktown review and the user benchmarks in the earlier links?

My 670 in my other computer has a very mild OC and the guy in the video slightly O.C.ed the 660ti.

His 660ti got 35.9 fps and 908 in the heaven test and mine in the exact same settings got 47.3 fps and a score of 1191...
The 660Ti is about 25% slower than the 670 in this benchmark.

Thats why Im probably choosing the 7950 or the 7970 in my other build.

Anyways check out these new benchmarks on page 15/16
http://www.overclock.net/t/1293356/vc-geforce-gtx-660-t...

It might change your mind. The 660ti seems more comparable to a 7870.

Didn't mean to freak you out lol.
But the 660 ti is close to a 7950 just not better than it. Although can be comparable in some games and settings.
It is significantly better than the 7870 just not better than a 7950.

I'd say it's definitely in between a 7870 and a 7950 in Assuming AA isnt heavily on.

A bit worse than I expected, then again I knew there was something fishy about the tweaktown reviews. The 7950 is on a gtx 670 level, being slightly worse at stock clocks and slightly better when both are OC'd. I didn't really expect the 660 ti to be within 5% of the 670, but 25% worse is somewhat disappointing.

  yeah as long as it's better i will be buying two my thing is i have two 570 but i am burnt out on them and plan on giving them to my son it's not that there bad i just want something new i bore easily i did try a 7850 and wasn't impressed it wasn't even better than one of my 570 i think it was actually worse despite what people claim it was in noway better than my 570 i might just expect to much
