Is it the encryption security and speed of AES-NI on the i5-3570k worth the $70 premium over the i3-3225? I am only looking at these two processors because the retailer I am ordering from offers a discount on motherboards if I purchase either of those CPU's. On a side note, is there any problem with biostar motherboards? I heard a few years ago they had a big problem with bad capacitors.

Yes...the i5 is a much better processor, but be careful...the deals you get on some of these motherboards are not for good boards...what boards are in the offer?

I am a fan of the current range of mid to high end Asus & Gigabyte boards, but would avoid most of the others if I were you.

My mobo options are:

MSI B75MA-E33
Biostar H77MU3
MSI H61M-E33/W8
ASUS P8H77-M/CSM
MSI Z77A-G41

Others which are included in the sale are either way too expensive, or lack PCIe 3.0 x16(a deal-breaker).

The 3570k is a quad core processor, the 3225 is a dual core processor
