Acer aspire 5742 wifi windows 7 not working

Hi there,

I have tried so many things to turn the wifi switch on and its software. I installed new window 7.


Could any help with this?

WiFi is on/off is usually a combination of Fn and some function key. I hope you have tried that already.

That not the problem. The problem is that you can't install the wifi driver on it

You said you can't intall driver - what exactly happens when you try to install. Please write some more details here and somebody would be able to help for sure.

Well it install it perfectly, but nothing come up in network adapters and also i can't turn on my wifi button

I would completely uninstall the driver and let Windows reinstall on its own. I am sure you tried that.
If nothing works, I would reinstall Windows 7.

i am having the same problem. the wireless LED does not go on, i try switching my wifi on using the 'Fn' key, but nothing happens...

seeking immediate help

Updating BIOS could be a possible solution to problem - no harm giving that a try.
