Hi I am trying to upgrade my CPU on my computer. I currently have the AMD Athlon X2 4450B and I want to upgrade to the best CPU I can possible buy. I found out that the socket for the 4450B is FM2 and i hear that FM2+ CPU's will fit in FM2 mobo's, so I looked for the highest performing FM2 or FM2+ CPU. So I looked on passmark's CPU benchmark list and the highest performing one i could find was the AMD Athlon X2 240e. First off I want to know if this really is the highest performing CPU for my socket and second will I be able to upgrade to it.

One thing you overlooked is what cpu's your system supports. Just because it uses the same socket doesn't mean it supports all the cpu's available to it.

Look up the cpu support for your system or let us know what system you have and someone here will do it.
