Neveron General Overview
So what is Neveron? It is a game based off of Battle Tech games that adds
in the factor of empire building to the war aspects of Battle Tech. While
you play the game you are the emperor of your own empire which you need to
manage, build, expand, and defend. Those of you who have played Battle Tech
before will probably recognize the battle system some what, since it is
loosely based off of battle tech combat; keep in mind however that this is
NOT Battle Tech and not all of the rules are the same.
Before you start playing you must recognize this is not a game that you can
start playing and immediately become a power to be reckoned with. It takes
work to keep your empire running and growing and well defended, and unless
you are willing to sacrifice at least an hour or two a day you will likely
be killed in either a land war or will find your progress slower then others
who dedicate more time.
Cost to play:
Neveron is a completely free game. You will not have to pay anyone to start
up an empire, and you will not need to give them any billing information.
All you need to do is create a new login and have fun. The money to run
Neveron has all come from player donations.
If you wish to make a donation to Neveron you will get 1 donation point (or
DP) for every 1 US dollar you have donated; with larger donations giving a
bonus to the number of DP obtained (see the donation page for more details).
These donation points can be traded in for various advantages from free
units to resurrecting dead characters, to doubling the amount of money a
single zone makes. While donating from time to time will help your empire
significantly it is in no way required.
Goal:
If you're thinking about playing Neveron then you are probably wondering
what the goal of the game is or how it is you win. One of the great things
about Neveron is that there is no way to win, per se, and your goals are
whatever you want to make them. You can try to become the military
superpower, strive to become a producer of mechs, attempt to become the top
dog of the arenas for your size class, or something else. Neveron is
whatever you make it out to be.
Neveron is a game that never resets. Because of this there are old and
large empires that have been there since the start of the game and smaller
new empires that are just getting started. It has developed its own
alliances and political system and its economy is a free market driven by
supply and demand. In this way it is much like ruling an empire in the real
world.
Neveron is in Beta:
One final thing to realize before you even get started is that Neveron is a
game that is always having additions added to it and still has bugs. Just
because right NOW using unit XYZ is a sound defense doesn't mean that future
developments will not render it less effective. In addition you will
sometimes find bugs with the game that may help or hurt you. Realize that
every change that the admins make to the game will in some way change the
game that you are playing. Some changes cause a bigger game change than
others.
