95 Watt FX 8300 Where is it

Hey guys

Just wanted to know if anyone had any info on the 95 watt FX 8300 CPU? There were several articles on the net pertaining to the CPU in December. The article that I saw said the Cpu was suppose to be released the last week of December. So far haven't seen it on any of my reg etailer websites and haven't heard any other news about it. All of my Google searches just bring up the original articles saying the CPU is being released in December. The upgrade bug has hit me hard and I am currently waiting on this CPU to replace my X6, any articles or links would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

More about watt 8300
  1. Apparently this proc is not available to the general public in America. They must not trust us with it. You can get one with the HP pavilion.

You can apparently buy these in Japan for about $200, but like you I can't find one even on Japanese websites.

mindless728- you linked to a completely different processor there. fx6300 is not the same as fx8300. :non:
  2. It's nice to hear that AMD is trying to reduce power consumption on their CPUs much like what they have done in the past for their Radeon HD graphics cards (the Radeon HD 4xxx series is the exception).

I'm sure it will eventually hit the US market. I believe AMD only revealed it on Dec 31st, 2012.

derp, was thinking the wrong one
  4. So know one on Toms has an idea when the CPU is going to drop and be available to the general public or is this CPU that is only going to be available to oems ? like the 1035 X6 was ?
  5. That cpu is an OEM/Tray only version. Confirmed. Someone else was looking for it too recently. Not available through direct retail to general public.

If that's the case, then problem solved...

Just buy a brand name PC with the FX-8300. Remove the CPU and throw away the rest of the PC along with the trash...
  7. How reliable is cpu world? they've updated the 8300 page and it now carries a box version though still could not locate it retailing anywhere.

Check out the news section and there's an 8140 and a 6350 too, though they are OEM as well.
  8. there wont be any 8350 85watts. its gonna be similar specs to the 8350 but with a different name and lower power consumption. time of release i dunno when.
  9. This is one of the articles that I saw in december , clearly stating that it was being released at that time. Obviously this hasn't happen. So does anyone know if the CPU is Oem only? cause I have seen it certain HP desktop models.

  10. So far only OEM ones are showing up and yes I've seen them in HP models too. Hp were apparently the first to ship those. HP ENVY h8-1400z desktop computer

  11. only way of getting those would be to buy an oem pc pre-built doesnt make much sense.
  12. I still cant believe the cpus are not up for sale yet , doesn't amd want to make $
  13. The quantity produced is probably only enough to fulfill OEM orders.
  14. i think they need to make a 75 watts version thats gonna be a deal killer and increase clockspeed at 5 gigahertz :D
  15. You can probably find them on ebay, etc. It was the same way with the FX-8100

I just checked eBay , I can only find it in pre built systems not the chip by itself
  17. Yeah, I did too after I posted it. It's probably still too new for OEMs to be dumping their excess.
  18. id wait and see retail versions, to make shur u got 100% compatibility with ur board.
