Hey, I have been planning on getting a gaming pc and this is what my setup looks like.

CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core $215.99
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing $27.98
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H ATX LGA1155 $114.99
Memory G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 $34.99
Storage Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $89.99
Video Card Asus Radeon HD 7870 2GB $237.86
Case Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower $49.49
Power Supply Rosewill 650W ATX12V / EPS12V $69.99
Optical Drive Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer $15.99
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) $90.56

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jbNB It says the Mobo has USB 3.0 header but case doesnt have, is that a real issue?

you can probably do better

get the asus z77-v LK motherboard instead.
get the antec 302 case instead of the 912. better cabling and USB 3
xfx has a 7870 for 229.99 after MIR
seagate barracuda 1tb 64mb is faster and cheaper. reliabilty really depends. i had no problems with seagate but problems with WD

there are usb3 to usb2 adaptors readily avaliable. super cheap.

all z77 boards have usb3 whether you like it or not
