hey i was going to buy a GPU that is 11.5" and the only way it will fit is if i take out my hard drive bay.what i was going to ask was can i put the hard drive on my case if it is screwed down and not in a bay and just sitting on the bottom of my case.

Sure you can or you can get an adapter to install it in a 5.25" bay also
