You can use an NVIDIA graphics card perfectly fine on your motherboard. However, you cannot run an SLI setup (two or more NVIDIA cards). For $250, you can get an HD 7850 which will be MUCH faster than your HD 6670:
You can use an nvidia card with your system. Graphics cards don't care which brand your CPU is. Your Phenom II can still keep up with any single GPU, so you are okay on that front. Your motherboard does not support SLI though, so you wouldn't be able to use two nvidia cards together in SLI. As long as you only want one nvidia card, you are okay with getting one with that system.
