I am temporarily installing an Nvidia GT430 Graphics Card on an ASUS P5WD2 Premium Board while still looking for a new board. The card specification says that Nvidia GT430 is a PCI Express x16 version 2.0 card.

The ASUS P5WD2 Premium board have Two (2) PCI Express x16 Slots,

1. The first slot is a PCI Express x16 version 1.1 slot
and
2. The second slot is a Universal PCI Express x16 (maximum 4x) version 1.1

Even if PCI Express x16 2.0 cards are backwards compatible with 1.1 slots, What are the possible performance drawbacks of using the Nvidia GT430 card on a these v1.1 PCI Express slots?

You won't notice a difference. If you run benchmarks you may notice a small(as in 1% or less)performance loss and that's if it happens. I'm not sure if a GT430 can saturate a PCI 1.1 slot so you might have the card running at full power with no performance loss
