I would like to know for sure if a Pentium 4 2 ghz cpu can be replaced with a 3.2 ghz Pentium 4 of the same socket type in a sis-645 motherboard.

I don't have much more information. It is originally an older desktop from 2002. 3gb of DDR ram. 200 gb hd. runs like a pro still. But the cpu is worn and a pin is broken. I want to keep it running. it was the last of the great sis-645 boards of it's time so hard to replace. But not sure about what the 3.2 ghz Cpu going from 512k hz to 800hz will do. never changed one out this old before. But both cpu's are similar periods. 2002 original to 2006 new.

Oh, I am running Windows XP sp3 for the OS. But don't know jack about Bios and Moby or whatever.

Here is the Motherboard and Bios info:

BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG, 4/10/2002

Phoenix-Award
BIOS Date: April 10th, 2002
BIOS ID: 04/10/2002-SiS-645-6A6IXS2AC-00
BIOS OEM: P4SX-2BA3 - 6.00 PG
Chipset: SiS 645 rev 2
SuperIO: ITE 8705/SiS 950 rev 2 at port 002E
Manufacturer: Soyo
Motherboard: SiS-645

Also I seem to be running into a problem finding Bios updates as all the Soyo links no longer function, no matter what site I go to.
