Mobo beeping?

Just wondering, does the mobo beep on its own? Or does anything have to be hooked up to it?

My mobo won't beep...

You should have a little "system speaker" that came with your computer case (doesn't come with the motherboard, strange, huh) - that'll plug into the speaker header (in the front panel header area) of your motherboard

some need the little jtag speaker that C12Friedman is referring to while others have a built in speaker.

this is what the jtag speaker looks like, and if you don't see something like this without the wires attached to your motherboard then your not going to hear any beep codes
