Hello, I'm currently building a gaming pc and for awhile I was just using intel integrated graphics for gaming which seemed to be fine, but I recently purchased a GPU and when I install it the fan turns on in the GPU but the computer doesn't recognize it. I took a flashlight and noticed some pins on the pci 2.0 express slot were missing. I am wondering whether or not this is the GPU or the motherboards fault. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If i'm correct looking at one of my extra motherboards, you will see what looks like missing pins but it's actually supposed to be like that. As for getting it to use your graphics card as a display, go into your bios and I believe it's under integrated Periph. and something should be selected to use onboard graphics, you will want to disable that and set it to PCIE. Some motherboards will do it automatically and some won't. Hope this is an easy solution and not something serious!
