CPU for These Games

Ok Guys im upgrading my older PC for some more decent gaming im upgrade my Current Core 2 Duo 2.66 to a Core 2 Quad q9500 now would this Processor be good for these games

Empire Total War
Napoleon Total War
Total War Shogun 2


and maybe some others

another question is are the core 2 quad basically 2 Core 2 Duos int 1 CPU thanks for answering
