Building a new very basic PC just for browsing the internet and retrieving/downloading documents from a database. I'm not familiar with AMD CPUs and sockets so I wanted to know whether this would work and if everything was compatible:

Everything seems compatible.
The PSU tied with the Rosewill case probably came from them as well so it should be at least fair quality.

you forgot the cost of the os. i hate to say this but for a few dollars more there are hp and dells with faster amd or intel cpu that are selling with the os for 299.00. also
the cpu and mb are old old.

with any system with windows 4g is your min for a system to run without slowing down or blue screen from lack of ram. i would buy two kits and max the system out at 8g. with ram your better off using match kits or one match set of ram.
if your in high school or collage see if you can get the windows software edu discount.
