How do we repaire hard drives

More info is needed if you want an answer other than the obvious.

If its smashed, drilled or physically damaged to the point where the platter inside has shattered/broken. No hope of fixing it or recovering the data.
If you dropped it and it doesnt work anymore, then it may be recoverable. A specialist may be able to extract the data off it, though the drive itself will be useless.
