from what I understood, this CPU's stock cooling system sucks

i was playing Alan Wake at highest settings and for a moment i thought im in an old russian airplane on the seat next to its engines

i need some recommendation for its fan, AM3+ and 520x288x583 dimensions
and pls mention its Decibels too
thanks

No man!
did you check their noise level
those h80i and h100i both crossed 30 dBA
and hyper 212 was 12-30 which means 30 to me anyway

i saw noise levels in 17-21dBA with lower prices
just donno if they were real I mean, maybe thats not what they really say it is

im afraid to buy something like that and come home, mount it and see no difference
when they say 21dBA, means u hear nothing when the CPU is at its highest?

Don't take the BA readings they claim... Go by opinions, really forum members can support me on this, the hyper 212 is silent it is a awesome awesome cooler, pretty much. And both the H100i and the H80i at low settings are silent to (and cool very very well).

If you want the most quiet cooler I would have to say pick up a megahelms as thats a passive one. (though I have no idea how it would do for overclocking and it semi depends on airflow through the case) I warn you though it is absolutely massive.

Or you could grab a 212+ on the cheap and grab a quieter fan, something like a noctua fan would be nice or maybe just go all out and get a NH-D14 cooler.

I would be afraid of going passive with the FX 8150... It pumps out way to many watts of heat... :/ I would only go passive by lowering the voltage quite a bit...
+1 for the 212+, as I said, great cooler

but better yet is any of the three giants. nh-d14, silver arrow, and the phanteks.

none of them go over 25 db and the nh-d14 and phanteks dont go over 20 db. plus they are 10-20*c cooler then a shitty 212 evo. not sure when someone asks "whats the best cooler with the lowest dB for it" people go straight for the 212 evo right away when its a medium level cooler at best. the only thing it has going for it is the price performance ratio. you very well could have been asking for something like the 212 but i am going to answer your question exactly like you asked. those three coolers are the best coolers unless you get into custom water kits.

The 212 is not shitty... I'm kinda afraid of the NH-D14... that thing weights more than 1,2Kg! I'm always afraid of breaking the motherboard with it...
Those are good coolers and are dead silent though, may be an option...
But... "those three coolers are the best coolers unless you get into custom water kits"... No, the H100i beats them... the H110 also beats them... And I feel safer using them... :)

Very true I haven't seen any recent cpu testing on the megahelms.

Thanks for pointing that out.

you pay 30 bucks more for the h100i and 40 for the h110i for marginal improvement. for 110-120 you could build a cheap real water cooling kit that would be 5-10*c better anyway.

basically it all comes down to how much the op wants to spend

thanks everyone for ur help
I just bought a hyper Z600 cpu cooler for 40$ and said goodbye to fans although it has a mountable fan ability in both sides but right now when i play the same game, i hear nothing and the temp is around 40 most of the time
enough for me

thanks again for helping me being introduced to those colorful fans
